Cutimed^® HydroControl

is a moisture-balancing hydrogel dressing that creates a moist wound healing environment and supports tissue growth. It consists of a semi-permeable PU film and an adhesive hydropolymer layer with pores. It absorbs moisture from wound bed and stimulates the perfusion of fresh fluid into the wound (osmotic effect) which supports autolytic debridement. Cutimed HydroControl promotes wound stimulation.

Intended Purpose

Indications: Cutimed HydroControl is indicated for dry to moderately exuding chronic and secondary healing wounds, such as leg ulcers (venous, arterial and mixed aetiology), pressure ulcers and diabetic foot ulcers as well as superficial burns. Cutimed® HydroControl is suitable for use under compression therapy.

Wear time: Cutimed HydroControl may remain in situ for up to 7 days, depending on the patient condition and level of exudate.

How to use

1. Cleanse the wound according to wound management protocol.
2. The wound can be prepared by irrigation and drying the wound and the surrounding skin, as needed.
3. Select one or more dressings so that the dressing overlaps the wound site by at least 2 cm. The dressing can be cut to size, if necessary.
Application
4. Aseptically remove the dressing from the package.
5. Peel away the lower, transparent liner to expose the adhesive surface.
6. Hold the dressing by the white applicator tab and apply with the adhesive surface towards the wound.
7. Peel away the white tab and gently smooth the dressing.
8. Carefully peel away the upper liner at the red stripes.
9. A secondary dressing can be used for fixation, if necessary. Cutimed HydroControl is compatible with gauze bandages, elastic bandages, transparent film dressings and fixation strips like Fixomull transparent, Leukoplast or Leukosilk.
10. Inspect the wound frequently. Change the dressing as frequently as required by the wound condition.
11. Cutimed HydroControl may remain in situ for up to 7 days, depending on the patient condition and level of exudate.
How to Remove
12. Carefully remove any fixation dressings according to wound management protocol.
13. Gently remove Cutimed HydroControl from the wound site and discard.
14. Irrigate the wound with a suitable wound cleanser before inspecting the wound and applying a new dressing.
