Cutimed® Sorbion® Sachet XL

is a sterile, hydroactive, gel-forming, superabsorbent wound dressing. The dressing consists of a strongly water-retaining superabsorbent core and an outer layer from a hypoallergenic polypropylene. Both sides of the dressing can be applied to the wound. The product does not contain any pharmacologically active substances and is free of binders or adhesives.

Intended Purpose

Indications: Cutimed Sorbion Sachet XL is intended for the treatment of exuding wounds with moderate to excessive levels such as decubitus, ulcus cruris, diabetic foot ulcers and other wounds healing through secondary intention, oozing laparotomy wounds, fistulas to the skin, exulcerating carcinomas, postoperative wound dehiscence and similar exuding wounds. It is suitable for the treatment of extensive wounds, such as wounds on the upper and lower legs, the thorax or abdomen, or on the forearm area.

Wear time: Cutimed Sorbion Sachet XL can remain in place for up to 7 days, depending on wound conditions and saturation of wound dressing.

How to use

1. Before applying the dressing disinfect hands and use gloves.
2. If necessary, irrigate the wound and remove leftover cleansing solution afterwards.
3. Select a suitable dressing size, so that the absorbent inner core overlaps the wound margins by at least 1 cm/0.4-inch.
4. When taking the product out of the pouch, do not touch the wound pad.
5. Apply the dressing towards the wound. Both sides of the dressing can be applied to the wound.
6. Secure the dressing after selecting an appropriate fixation for the condition of the wound surroundings and the skin. Films, medical tapes, bandages or any other suitable fixation dressing can be used. While fixating the dressing, take expansion during absorption into consideration.
How to Remove
To remove Cutimed Sorbion Sachet remove fixation tapes, lift one corner of Cutimed Sorbion Sachet, gently remove the dressing and discard. Adherence of wound deposits to Cutimed Sorbion Sachet is a desirable effect, contributing to wound cleansing (soft debridement).
